Celestial Marriage

Celestial Marriage is probably one of the single most important and distinct doctrines of Mormonism. It teaches that the institution of marriage endures after death and that "Families are Forever." Celestial Marriage means that parents can be "sealed" for "time and eternity," both to each other and to their offspring

Celestial Marriage is an "Everlasting Covenant" and is required for those who will inhabit the highest levels of Mormonism's concept of heaven. This is an intriguing concept, especially in a modern America where marriage is denigrated by much of the population.

Mormonism places great emphasis on the family. It endeavors to create happy, healthy, and stable homes. Much of the spiritual energy expended by latter-day Saints is directed to that end.
